I ask myself the same question when I go to the schools and see some of these girls, what they are wearing (or not wearing), the makeup, etc. It scares me a little that they are growing up too fast. I remind my girls that they are 100% responsible for their own actions and who they see when they look in the mirror is the only one that counts! Sometimes it's about self image, sometimes a power struggle and sometimes it's just being a teen! Pick your battles carefully and hold your ground firmly when you choose! And, congratulations! Looks like you are definitely in the Meanest New Old Mom Club too! Cindy-I have four girls between 2 and 14! The more I put my foot down on the "no makeup at school" rule, the more she sneaks around and gets it on somehow (whether borrowing from a friend on the bus or stealing my makeup). She actually prefers to be grounded from T.V., cellphone and friends after school than to do without eyeliner. What's becoming of our girls? I had the opposite effect with my daughter.
