Mom Makes Millions from Teenager Eyerolling, Huffing and Puffing

Welcome back! Have you Joined The Club?

I can’t stand it!

And, I can’t spell it!

Humpf, huff, puff, eye roll, eye roll, head shake, cluck, tongue clicks….it goes on and on!

Do you have tween or teens?

Honestly, I don’t think it has anything to do with girls or boys. I think it is just their age. The disgruntled noises that I here at home and especially in the car are dumbfounding! If I had a dollar or even a dime for ever time I heard a huff or a puff or had someone roll their eyes at me, I swear I would be a MILLIONAIRE!

OK, this is going under the category of Random Rants but I couldn’t help it. Today, I had to get gas on the way to school. Now, let me be clear. We are always early. But, I could have filled my tank with all the hot air, huffin and puffin that was going on in my car!

Usually, the only words that I hear in between the outbursts of hot air are, “you are so mean!” Yes, I will win “Meanest Mom in the Universe” this year! Yeah for me!

Yes, I’m taking a breathe myself now. I’m done ranting and maybe someday I’ll figure out how to bottle those noises and make an IPhone Application for them! Joel Comm were are you when I need you?

Let me know how close you are to being a huffin puffin millionaire too. And don’t forget to Join The Club for more New Old Mom fun!

I am there with you, sister! I have three girls. I hear those same things all day long. I think I’d be a millionaire, too.

    Tina,

I love it, my thing in my house is the grunt along with the “you are so mean” and “I Hate you” bit. Or even better the mumbling of @#!!@# under their breath.

I think I missed the arm crossing and foot stamping in the video! Oh yah, and an occassional door slam!

    Thanks for the comments!

My son isn’t even a teen yet and I get that. He’s in that preteen (he’s 10) stage so maybe that’s where it’s coming from. But since when do boys do all this eye rolling and the other stuff? I just thought it was girls that did all that stuff. LOL

    Tishia-

Bad news…I have friends with boys and the eye rolling, huffing thing isn’t gender based! Sad but true! Good luck!

I guess I am lucky, my 14 y/o does not roll her eyes or make huffy sounds. Could be that she is afraid I would be on the brink that day. LOL!

She does occasionally give me a stare that could burn holes through concrete.

I do get a bit jarred when she tells me “whatever”. Glad she is over that. Now, my blood pressure can go back to normal. ;)

ps. I saw you on twitter at the #typeamom chat & wanted to check out your blog.

well, i am 15, and i admit to doing that to my parents, although it may seem annoying its something us teens naturally pick up, its hard to explain, i did stop though, i heard my cousin doing it to her mom and i thought “oh man that is really annoying” haha,
now instead of complaining with all the eye rolling, huffing, ect. i simply do or better yet go along with what my parents say, because complain or not im going to have to do it either way, and all you moms or dads are gardiens out there reading my comment please have your child (if he or she does the huffing, puffing, eye rolling, ect.) read this, and they will (probally) trully see how irratating it is(:

  8. I love your video. As a mom, to teens, both sexes, I joke, with them, “good thing you are more than an arms reach, from me.” and roll my eyes right back.

Since I’ve learned the Twilight lingo, of my 15 year old.. I hiss back, too. LOL

Better.. I tell them I’m going to blog it, if they repeat it. :)
