School Days Manic Mornings…5 Tips To Surviving Teen Morning Hormones

Welcome back! Have you Joined The Club?

The older I get the more I realize that money is not the root of all evil…it’s hormones!

Since I do have four daughters you would think that I would be prepared to deal with the mini rages that pop up so randomly.

Easier said than done!

Mornings just seem to be the most difficult.  No matter how early the girls get up there is never enough time or bathroom space.

The alarm clock goes off. The hormones kick in!  Somedays are just crazy!

With girls, it’s all about hair, clothes and who’s turn it is to sit in the front seat!

I know, I know, all you ladies with boys are saying that you have exactly the same issues!  I have lots of friends with boys that tell me the hormone levels in a house full of boys is just as bad as it is in a house full of girls minus the toliet seat problem!

Sometimes I wonder if I’ll survive the teen years?

As a New Old Mom the one thing I can count on, if I do survive, is that I will be better prepared when the baby hits teen hormone hell!

Here are 5 Survival Tips that have keep my head from spinning off:

1.  Stagger the wake up times if possible.  The one who takes the longest gets up first.

2.  Make sure clothes are put out the night before to avoid the “I have nothing to wear!” rant.

3.  Put a timer in the bathroom and stick to the times.  No one goes back into the bathroom until everyone else finishes.

4.  Mean words said in the morning hormone rush hold accountibility after school is out.  (I like them to go to school on a positive note but when school is out we discuss bad morning behavior!)

5.  Keep a chart for who sits in the front seat.  No guessing, no trading turns or no arguments.

Thanks to randomness of these hormone rages, some mornings are better than others.  One thing I try to instill in the girls is that how you start your morning can determine your whole day!

No matter how manic the morning is, we always make sure to part on good terms with “I Love You” and “Have a Good Day”…and a smile.
